Tim Sweeney, the founder of Epic games who has done some unrealistic work on Unreal Engine(one of the most used gaming platforms for other developers) and ZZT(Zoo of Zero Tolerance) game. He has been at work for decades, developing different, complicated and interactive world for game lovers.

Sweeney is now making news headlines for every gamer and non-gamer by protecting undeveloped and bio-diverse land for our upcoming generations in Western Carolina Mountains.

Since 2008, Sweeney has used millions of dollars to protect and preserve the biodiversity in his home state, Carolina. He nearly bought 40,000 acres of land forest which makes him one of the largest private landowner in Carolina. He also donated money to expand the Mount Mitchell State Park by 1500 acres.

In order to protect 7000 acres of Box Creek Wilderness in his home state, Sweeney has paid over $15 million where Epic Games is located. The forest, located in the Blue Ridge Mountain, was protected after fighting with Rutherford Electric Membership Corporation since they wanted to put power lines through it.

Sweeney donated the land to US Fish and Wildlife Service to prevent it from being ruined and developed. Sweeney said
It’s one of the most diverse areas in North Carolina. It has such rare plant and wildlife species, it seemed a perfect fit with the Fish and Wildlife Service. This is a first step – there will be other places protected. The goal is to connect South Mountains State Park to Chimney Rock. This is one piece of the puzzle.
He also bought 193 acres in Almanac country for $1.9 million from Sizemore Brothers LLC and 1500 acres in Stone Hills which could have been developed as a golf resort community.
